Although we have been accused of following a different Kalima, where the religious leaders teach that we recite ‘Ahmad’ instead of ‘Muhammad’ or at least that is in our hearts, this is total nonsense and you will see at every Ahmadi Mosque the Kalima proudly displayed:
La illaha illallaho, Muhammad ur Rasoolullah
There is none worthy of worship except Allah; Muhammad is the messenger of Allah
As for what is in our hearts, how do they know? Only Allah knows what is in the hearts. But the fact is that no Ahmadi would ever say that this is their belief, neither will you find it mentioned in any of our books etc. It is a pure lie!
One of the misunderstandings that has crept into everyday belief is that Allah is not everywhere? We try to explain to them that ‘how can Jesus be raised to Allah, Allah is everywhere. To which point did Jesus then go?’ Surprisingly, the response often given is that ‘Allah is not everywhere!’ When you ask many non-Ahmadis Muslims what they mean, they will support this by saying ‘that Allah is not in the toilet’. In their bid to show the purity of Allah, they make such a claim. What does it mean? You can go into the toilet and do whatever you want and Allah doesn’t know about it? Allah is everywhere; there is no where Allah can’t reach. As the Holy Qur’an relates:
Eyes cannot reach Him, but He reaches the eyes. And He is the Incomprehensible, the All-Aware.
Another misunderstanding is that the non-Ahmadis Muslims believe that Allah can no longer speak to man! As they say that no Wahy (revelation) can now come. Therefore when Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, may peace be upon him, claimed that he received Wahy then they say he is lying! Whilst we believe that no more laws will now be revealed - as the Holy Qur’an states,
...This day have I perfected your religion for you and completed My favour upon you and have chosen for you Islam as religion...
It means that in Islam, the law, the religion and the Holy Qur’an is complete and no more laws will be revealed. But to extend that and say that now no more Wahy of any sort can now come, means that Allah cannot speak to us anymore? Yet all Muslims believe that none of Allah’s attributes will come to an end. Allah is Al-Mujeeb (The answerer of prayers), Al-Mutakallim (The Speaker; He who Speaks to His Servants), has these attributes of Allah now finished?
When Allah says in the Holy Qur’an
And when My servants ask thee about Me, say, ‘I am near. I answer the prayer of the supplicant when he prays to Me. So they should hearken to Me and believe in Me, that they may follow the right way.
Should we really expect Allah to answer us nowadays? Allah spoke to men and women since the beginning, but now will not Allah speak to us again? He will speak to the bee “And thy Lord revealed (Wahy) to the bee: ‘Make thou houses in the hills...” (Chapter 16:69) but he will no longer speak to man?
We have to understand that Wahy is not just law-giving revelation. Allah spoke to our beloved Holy Prophet about many things, some were revelation which was put in the Holy Qur’an, but others were revelation where he guided the Holy Prophet on some matter, or informed him of far away events etc.
It is vital that Allah continues to speak to us. He is a Living God and man constantly needs the reassurance of the presence of Allah. Through Wahy man obtains that reassurance. This is a Divine gift which has always been given to man. Revelation doesn’t just mean a new law, it is the way Allah communicates with His servants and helps us to attain nearness to our Lord and Master. If anyone is not receiving any Wahy (through dreams, visions etc.) then pray for them that Allah may guide them to His right path.
